Why do you use "Red Wiggler" worms?
Charles Darwin spent 39 years of his life along with the help of his children studying the earthworm, and concluded that as they move and consume, they turn the soil and organic matter into fertile soil by depositing their castings.
Red Wigglers are amazing at breaking down organic matter also but, they do it at a much faster and more efficient pace than the standard earthworm.
Hence why we use them in our composting methods to create our worm cast and worm tea.
How Do I Use Worm Cast / Worm Tea?
Worm cast can be added to your soil as a mulch or mixed in with your compost before planting or potting up.
Worm Tea is brewed using worm cast, and usually needs to be applied every 2-3 weeks as required. Dilute the tea in wter and soak the soil or compost well.
It can be also added to seed trays for propagation to enhance root growth and germination of seeds. imply soak the seed trays before planting cuttings or seeds into the modules.
Both the Cast and Tea are PH nutral and contain loads of nutrients and beneficial microbes to suit any plant and any soil type.
What is "The Soil Food Web"?
Our soil biology knowledge is based primarily around the soil food web.
The soil food web is a complex network of organisms, including bacteria, fungi, insects, and other creatures, that live in the soil and interact with each other and the environment, playing a crucial role in nutrient cycling and soil health.
The more beneficial of these organisms, fungi and bacteria you have in your soil - the more likely your plants are to thrive!
We try to introduce these beneficials to the soil in the form of our worm cast and worm tea fertilizer.
You can learn more here: www.soilfoodweb.com
Why is this worm tea a different colour to my previous purchase?
It all depends on what the worms have been fed with, which can vary with the season and what we have available to feed them.
When will there be more items in your shop?
We'll add worms next, and then some plants later in the year. We may add other gardening items and seeds too. As a new start up, we are starting from zero need it to be self-funding, meaning we need to raise money from sales to reinvest in the business. So keep buying our products and we'll keep adding more stuff!
