Product Information
An excellent mix of the following:
- Biochar, activated with Worm Cast Tea, and a Vermiculite/pearlite replacement.
- Worm cast containing trace elements, nutrients and microbial life.
- Insect frass to improve root structure, encourage stronger plant growth, and boost plant yeild.
- Coconut coir to aid mixing
- Woodchip to promote mycellium growth,
All of these can lead to:
- Naturally improved germination
- Improved water retention and aeration
- Boosted root growth and structure
- A natural carbon source and home for good bacteria (in the Biochar)
- Boosted plant yeild, naturally

- Provides a carbon-rich food source for beneficial fungi
- Improves long-term soil structure as it breaks down
- Enhances nutrient cycling
- Long-lasting pore structure for aeration and drainage
- Hosts beneficial microbes
- Improves nutrient retention (cation exchange capacity)
- Full spectrum of trace minerals and plant-available nutrients
- Beneficial bacteria, fungi, and enzymes
- Natural growth hormones like auxins and cytokinins

How to use:
Mix the Compost Companion with your shop-bought or home-made compost.
Filling the Pot
Fill the pot about 1/3 full with your dampened mix.
Never pack the soil down with your palms. You want to maintain the air pockets so roots can breathe.
A light tap of the pot on the table is enough to settle the soil.
Planting
Check the Depth: Place your plant in the pot to check the height. The top of the plant's root ball should sit about 1 inch (2.5 cm) below the rim of the pot. This creates a "reservoir" so water doesn't spill over the sides when you hydrate it.
Fill the remaining space around the root ball with mix.
Post-Planting Care
The first few minutes are the most important for settling the roots.
Water the plant thoroughly until water runs out of the drainage holes. This naturally settles the soil around the roots and eliminates large air gaps. After watering, the soil level might drop slightly. Top it off with a little more mix if the roots become exposed.
Overall Benefits for Plants
